Optimizada cabo beach

Whether you’re stopping by for a day on your way through Baja or spending the week in paradise, visiting the beach is one of the ultimate things to do in Cabo San Lucas. Recognized for some of the best beaches in Mexico, Cabo San Lucas beaches are beautifully diverse, offering everything from private sanctuaries to tourist hot spots.

If your reasons to go to the beach are centered around adventure, relaxation, or seeing the sights, then each of the following Cabo beaches is for you.

1. Lover’s Beach Cabo San Lucas

If you’re looking for reasons to go to the beach, Lover’s beach will give you more than you need. Not only is it one of the most scenic of Cabo San Lucas beaches, but it also offers adventure and fun for all ages.

  • Location. Situated right next to Land’s end, at the southernmost point of the Baja Peninsula.

  • Activities. This Cabo beach is a quiet playground for those wishing to soak up the sun, play in the water, and snorkel among schools of tropical fish. Because it is situated on the Sea of Cortez side of the Peninsula, it is safe for swimming, but don’t get confused with Divorce Beach right next door where swimming isn’t recommended due to rip tides and large waves.

However, if you want to enjoy one of the most popular things to do in Cabo San Lucas, jump on a glass-bottom boat from the marina to go to the beach. These boats will often take you to view the famous El Arco rock formation before dropping you on the beach.

Once you’re there, you can spend as much time as you like before grabbing a water taxi back to town, but remember to take water, towels, and shade with you because there are no restaurants or vendors on the beach. While this is a great spot for kids, Lover’s Beach is most well-known as a spot for romantic picnics and photo shoots for lovers.

2. Palmilla Beach in Cabo

Considered one of the best beaches in Mexico for swimming and family-oriented activities, Palmilla Beach is a haven for those hoping to go to the beach and spend the day in the water.

  • Location. Located in San José del Cabo, Palmilla Beach is one of the best beaches to swim and spend a day of maximum relaxation in Cabo San Lucas.

  • Activities. Whether you are swimming, kayaking, or snorkeling, you’ll have a blast in the brilliantly calm, blue water. Long walks on the beach and sunbathing are also popular activities at Palmilla, especially because it is easy to stretch out and not feel like you’re on top of other tourists, which is one of the reasons to go to the beach if you’re looking to escape the crowds.

While not completely barren, if you want some shade, be sure to bring an umbrella because the palapas on the beach fill up in the early morning and there isn’t much else in terms of refuge from the sun. You’ll also want to bring your own snacks and beverages because there aren’t any restaurants or bars on this Cabo beach. A Blue Flag beach, Palmilla is clean, accessible for those not staying at one of the Cabo San Lucas hotels on the beach, and safe.

3. Medano Beach

Of all the Cabo San Lucas beaches, this one probably gets the most love. It’s a popular spot for those looking for the best beach parties, the top restaurants with a view, and even a scenic spot to relax the day away.

  • Location. Located in the center of Cabo San Lucas, you will have one of the best panoramic views of the Arch. It is the beach of the best hotels in the destination such as Villa del Palmar, Villa la Estancia Cabo and Villa del Arco.

  • Activities. A day at Medano Beach is guaranteed to be filled with exciting activities, including paddle boarding, beach volleyball, jet skiing, and more.

It is also one of the most swimmable beaches in Cabo, offering a playful spot for splashing in the waves and body surfing back to shore. For many, the best Cabo San Lucas hotels on the beach are located here and there are a number of restaurants that get rave reviews for those wishing to dine or drink the day away.

Well known as one of the best beaches in Mexico, Medano Beach is visited by everyone from A-listers to locals looking for a good time.
