Before the federal government started enforcing precautionary measures for COVID-19, Villa la Estancia Cabo began taking preventive measures to ensure the safety of guests and staff. Because they said goodbye to the last guests before the government shut down hotels and resorts, they helped lead the way in keeping the city healthy through tighter security measures. Thankfully, the coronavirus curve has been flattening due to these safety measures, and the Mexican government has announced that resorts can start welcoming back guests as long as they follow good hygiene practices and infection control measures.
While guests were away, a smaller number of staff members at Villa la Estancia Cabo worked on resort cleaning, performing a disinfectant cleaning of all areas and making general improvements to the property. As the resort prepares to open, staff will be trained in recognizing COVID-19 symptoms, taking preventive measures, following standard cleaning and disinfection protocols, and implementing hotel safety tips that stress the importance of cleanliness. When the resort opens, the allowed occupancy rate will be significantly lower, and you can expect to see changes that will help ensure that infection control measures are being followed. While the resort has always been kept sparkling clean, new standard cleaning and disinfection practices will be implemented.
Rubén Martinez, Director of Operations of the Cabo Region for The Villa Group emphasized the importance of following strict guidelines regarding COVID-19. “One of the first security measures you’ll notice is non-invasive temperature checks of all guests and staff entering the resort, which we believe is a necessary element to keeping everyone safe. This is just a small example, but we’ve implemented protocols such as these throughout our resorts to keep our guests, employees, and community COVID-free. From the moment guests arrive to the moment they leave, we will be doing everything in our power to ensure their health and safety.”
Throughout Villa la Estancia Cabo, there will be antibacterial gel and informational signs placed in strategic areas to encourage guests and staff to follow preventive measures. One of the safety measures to help the staff is that when they arrive at the resort each day, they’ll be given freshly laundered uniforms to wear. With these precautionary measures, hopefully germs and viruses will be kept at bay.
In common areas of the resort, social distancing and good hygiene practices will be required to follow the best safety measures. You may notice that the capacity in dining rooms and common spaces will be limited, and guests will be asked to keep their distance from each other. Because of the importance of cleanliness in preventing the spread of COVID-19, staff members will be increasing their standard cleaning and disinfection of commonly touched surfaces, like computers, tables, doorknobs, lightswitches, and other areas. This increased resort cleaning will help kill off any viruses that enter the resort, and to keep the city safe, the importance of cleanliness cannot be overlooked.
While these new precautionary measures and disinfectant cleaning protocols aren’t what you normally picture when you imagine a Los Cabos vacation, the beauty of paradise still makes getting away to Cabo San Lucas the ultimate location. At the resort, you can still enjoy authentic Mexican cuisine, fresh produce, and cold drinks. Long walks on the beach and afternoons by the pool are the perfect ingredients for a Mexican vacation. As you have fun along the shores of Mexico, remembering to follow good hygiene practices and hotel safety tips will keep you and the rest of the Villa la Estancia Cabo family strong and healthy.
As excited as the resort is to reopen its doors, welcoming back guests can only be done with security measures and disinfectant cleaning practices. Increased resort cleaning and regular temperature checks are some of the best recommended practices for reopening. While these things don’t sound like your typical beach vacation, following infection control measures will keep you safe, and with the fun to be had on the shores of Los Cabos, you can have the trip of a lifetime while obeying hotel safety tips.
